Facilities Management Sri Lanka (FMSL) recently celebrated the ‘World FM Day’ for the second consecutive year, along with the global community. FMSL is a collection of talented Facilities Management (FM) personnel representing the Sri Lankan community.
Every fourth Thursday of June (this year it fell on June 23), different FM related associations come together to celebrate their profession. Around the globe most of the FM organisations join in with activities such as luncheons, Twitter debates,seminars and workshopspromoting and raising awareness about FM and its profile worldwide.Global FM members who had arranged for the events to take place were Australia,Brazil,France, Hungary, UK, USA,South Africa, India and Middle East, FMSL said in a press statement.
The day highlighted the valuable contributions sound Facilities Management had made and is making to sustainable global communities. Another highlight was the contributions made to provide productive, safe, healthy and secure work environments.
FMSL comprises about 300 dynamic young individuals who are passionate on Facilities Management. They have chosen this world class profession as the career after completing their B.Sc.(Hons) degrees in Facilities Management which is accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (UK) and offered by the University of Moratuwa,Sri Lanka. |
