As you all know the heralding day for Sri Lankan School Cricket is around the corner. Owing to various logistics the whole programme gets pushed for a while but come August 5 all school cricketers who thrilled their fans during the last season, will gather encore as we – the Sunday Times and the Bata shoe Company Limited recognise their season’s effort’s with a fitting finale.
This will be at the Sunday Times-Bata Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Show which will get off at 6 p.m. at the BMICH on August 5.
Meanwhile the missing link in the line-up of recognition – the International School’s awards also has been finalized now.
This year the Lyceum Wattala outfit comes out as the best International Schools’ team for 2011 while the runner-up is Gateway Colombo.
As we all know the Most Promising International schools Cricketer of the Year-2011- Dhananjana De Jacolyn Senevirathne- Gateway College- Colombo.
In another reminder the organisers have send all individual awards winners, school staff, school boys and award winners’ parents invitations to school principals to be collected from the schools.
