Australia’s Bond University continues to strengthen its national and international reputation for academic, student and teaching excellence after a 12 month period of sustained success in each of these areas.
Based in Queensland, Bond was again rated 5 stars by the independent 2011 Good Universities Guide across a broad range of graduate outcome and education criteria placing them as Queensland’s highest rating university (as compared to the Group of Eight). For the fifth consecutive year,Bond achieved five stars in its areas of particular strength; student-staff ratio, student satisfaction and graduate outcomes.
Bond University Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Garry Marchant believes that a culture of excellence has become an ingrained facet of life at the institution, with high achievement encouraged by both the teaching and student bodies.
“The past 12 months have seen a sustained period of high achievement by current students, staff and graduates, as evidenced by our continued success in the Good Universities Guide,” Professor Marchant said.
“Student success has been showcased by our continued victories in various global competitions; while staff achievement is illustrated by our academics being awarded national commendations and awards for their contributions in both research and the classroom. This is in addition to the expansion of our global network of world-class partners.”
Bond is home to a wide selection of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees across its Faculties and Institutes covering the major study disciplines along with university preparation and English language courses. Each Faculty offers a fast-tracked three-semesters-per-year degree programme.
Assisted by a worldwide network of alumni, students are also mentored and aided by graduates; who lead organisations such as Virgin Management Asia Pacific and General Motors Indonesia.
Professor Marchant feels that Bond’s consistent approach of creating career relevant programmes and providing Australia’s lowest student-to-staff ratio of 10:1, gives students an edge when entering the workforce. This also gives them access to unparalleled academic and technological resources on Bond’s world-class campus.
“Bond’s personalised approach to education combined with its uncompromising focus on industry relevance sets it apart from every other Australian university,” Professor Marchant said.
“Their learning experience is further enhanced through the University’s extensive corporate partnerships that provide relevant coursework, access to industry leaders and opportunities for research partnerships, internships, scholarships and graduate placements with a number of blue-chip organisations – all provided through each individual Faculty and Institute.”
Bond’s incredible campus is home to one of the most internationalised and diverse student bodies in Australia with up to 70 nationalities represented. Its location within the vibrant, cosmopolitan city of the Gold Coast - an hour south of Brisbane- sees it close to one of the world’s most incredible beaches and the key business and retail districts.
