It is a common aim of all parents to reach out for the best, when it comes to their children. A profound education embedded in a well - balanced syllabus - based on Cambridge O and A level -encouraging a healthy mind in a healthy body is one of the cornerstones for which our school and staff stands.
Nattandiya International School provides the essential infrastructure to exactly support the required positive learning atmosphere, enabling our children to achieve high academic standards. The serene surrounding of large paddy fields, clean air with virtually no sound pollution will support our children's learning process while 50 % extra-curricular activities guarantee that not only the academic but also the physical standards can be met, when required.

Qualified foreign and local teachers will guarantee, that in 12 years from now our first students will leave our school not only being awarded with excellent Cambridge A - level results, but with additional outstanding qualifications to meet the challenges the future will bring for them.
My humble experience as the founder Chairman of Wennappuwa International School in 1994 which at a later stage emerged into the present Jennings International College might be of a significant additional asset to enhance Nattandiya International School to the best International School in the Wayamba District by offering the broadest learning opportunities for our children.
In September 2011 our School will start with a Montessori and a Primary 1 section and year by year growing on a steady healthy path.

Education by Experience upon the Environment
"Scientific observation has established that education is not what the teacher gives; education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences upon the environment.
The task of the teacher becomes that of preparing a series of motives of cultural activity, spread over a specially prepared environment, and then refraining from obtrusive interference. Human teachers can only help the great work that is being done, as servants help the master. Doing so, they will be witnesses to the unfolding of the human soul and to the rising of a New Man who will not be a victim of events, but will have the clarity of vision to direct and shape the future of human society".
Dr. Maria Montessori, Italian Educater and Founder of the Montessori Education Method
The importance of the "absorbent mind", the limitless motivation of the young child to achieve competence over his or her environment and to perfect his or her skills and understandings as they occur within each sensitive period. The phenomenon is characterized by the young child`s capacity for repetition of activities within sensitive period categories.
