Prudential Shipping appointed logistics partner for KKS project

Prudential Shipping Lines (Pte) Ltd has been appointed as the logistics partner to Resolve Marine Salvage and Fire Asia Pte Ltd (Resolve), a subsidiary of Resolve Marine Group Inc, USA for the Kankesanthurai (KKS) project.

Resolve, a multifaceted global marine salvage and emergency response company, was awarded the contract by the Shipping Corporation of India to remove the six ship wrecks that were sunk in the KKS harbour during the conflict times, which will help to proceed with the development of the KKS harbour for commercial operations.

Prudential Shipping Lines, an ISO Certified (ISO 9001/2008), established Total Logistics Solutions provider, was selected by Resolve as the ideal partner to offer them total logistics support services, the company said.

The six wrecks, obstructing the safe access to the KKS harbuor, range in size from 17m to 99.5m in length and are fully submerged except for two, one of them being the ‘Edithara’. The operation process will use state-of-the-art, 3-D image scanning equipment which will identify all obstructions within a 500-meter radius of each wreck, ensuring removal of wreck debris and allowing for safe transit in the port.
