"Construct 2011", Sri Lanka's mega construction industry related exhibition displayed the country’s achievements in the construction industry. President Mahinda Rajapaksa opened the exhibition at the Sirima Bandaranaike Memorial International Exhibition Center in Colombo on Friday.
The three-day exhibition, organized by the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL), is considered as the construction industry's major trade fair in the South Asian Region. It is being held for the eleventh consecutive year.
Over 250 local and foreign exhibitors are displaying products from Malaysia, India, Pakistan and China. A spokesman of the association said the main objective of the exhibition was to develop the construction industry in Sri Lanka by introducing world-class products, services and state-of-the-art technology.
The exhibits showcase innovative techniques and modern construction designs with special emphasis on cost effectiveness and durability. |
