Introduces QBR Program for CIMA - Performance Management (P2) Subject
CIMA is, undoubtedly, the most sought-after qualification in Sri Lanka. Majority of the employers prefer CIMA Graduates since they qualify with rounded knowledge, hence carrying the ability to address challenges faced by an organization. CIMA syllabus content is subject to structured and periodic revisions to encapsulate the latest knowledge areas, required to manage a successful business.
Performance Management (P2) is a subject, students peruse at the management level of CIMA. It is fair to claim that, P2 is one of the most challenging subjects to surmount in the CIMA study stream. P2 syllabus contains Statistics, Mathematical Modeling, Decision Making Tools, Management Accounting, Planning, Operating Systems, Modern Accounting Arguments and basics of Marketing & Organizational Development, making it one of the most diverse subjects in CIMA.
Most of the students erroneously, believe that P2 is a subject dominated by mathematics but painfully realizes later, it is not so. To pass this subject a student requires knowledge in mathematics, operational theory and management combined with decision making skills, logical thinking, and sharp writing &presentation skills. It is unfortunate to note that Sri Lankan students have not managed this subject well which is reflected by not very encouraging national pass rates over the last few exam diets.
At Achievers, P2 is taught by Mr Ravi Edirisinghe. Ravi has been teaching this subject matter from 1994 and has successfully prepared students for 32 exam diets consecutively. Ravi has experienced 4 major syllabus changes and has witnessed the changes in the syllabus content and varying trends in exam questions. At Achievers, P2 syllabus was covered in detail with a comprehensive coverage of practice and exam questions on 1st Oct 2011, leaving more than sufficient time to conduct a comprehensive revision program.
Achievers will start QBR (Question Based Revision) for P2 on 8th Oct 2011. QBR is a unique method to operate a revision program through a series of structured questions. Parallel to the coverage of questions, the theories will be revised briefly hence students would get another opportunity to have a dash at the syllabus content. The program will be for a minimum of 30 lecture hours. At the P2 QBR revision special attention would be paid to improving the examination techniques. Coaching would be offered on question analysis, answering techniques, presentation skills and time management which are critical tools to excel at the exam.
Achievers Business School offers the QBR program for P2, free of charge for its existing students, however students outside the fraternity of Achievers could join this program after a registration fee.
