It was the culmination of years of hard work when the students of the Moratuwa University’s Department of Textile and Clothing Technology presented their graduation show on November 13 at the Mount Lavinia Hotel and had the thrill of seeing their collections on the catwalk before a critical audience.
The students were required to develop garments for a real customer and select their own brand or a famous brand name that they would create for and they laid on a show with themes as diverse as the environment to gym clothing underlining their mastery of practical and technical skills needed in creating a collection for a competitive industry.
The show which is also an event watched by industry professionals often serves to help the graduates make the leap into the big league.
