Indian Hospitals Group conducts proramme on neurosciences and spinal disorders

Global Hospitals Group, India, said to be one of the fastest growing chains of tertiary care multi super specialty hospital chains in the sub continent, recently organized a Continuous Medical Education (CME) programme at Colombo National Hospital, General Hospital Kandy and Gampaha on Neurosciences and Spinal disorders, together with their Sri Lankan Information and Assistance Centre, Forte International Pvt Ltd.

The medical and surgical team from India was led by Dr. K. Sridhar, a highly acclaimed Neuro and Spine surgeon, who is the Director, Institute of Neurosciences and Spinal Disorders with over 20 years experience in his area of speciality. Dr Sridhar is respnsible for having pioneered Spinal Surgery and Instrumentation, Aneurysm surgery, Skull base surgery, as well as Anterior Trans thoracic approach to the spine especially in Spinal Tuberculosis, in South India. “The objective of the programme which was attended by the medical luminaries of Sri Lanka was to share and transfer knowledge, as well as update the local medical fraternity about the latest global developments in the highly specialized field of Neurosciences,” a press release from Forte said.

The Institute of Neurosciences and Spinal Disorders at Global Hospitals Group is a leading provider of neurological care, neurosurgery, spine surgery, and neurology in India with branches in the metropolitan cities of Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and soon to be in Mumbai as well.

According to Chairman/CEO, Forte International Pvt Ltd, M.F.A. Riyas, a couple of public programs were held at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and the Mahanuwara Sinhala Weladha Peramuna in Kandy, targeting the professionals and business sector. “The response to the session was very encouraging and further reinforces Global Hospitals’ commitment to Sri Lanka in jointly working on enhancing the levels of treatment and patient care across various specialties,” he said.
