More than 700 international participants have confirmed their participation at Sri Lanka Expo 2012, the international trade show, being organized by the Sri Lankan Government in March,
These details were given by Janaka Ratnayake, (Chairman & Chief Executive of Sri Lanka Export Development Board) during a meeting this week chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce Minister Rishard Bathiudeen to review progress on the forthcoming event.
Mr Ratnayake said around 1000 international delegates was a likely total number.
Mr Bathiudeen said, according to a press release issued by his Ministry, that more than 70 SME exhibitors are taking part in SME pavilion at the event.
The Minister has also directed trade officers of the Department of Commerce attached to Sri Lankan missions overseas to actively promote the March 28 event. Officials present at the meeting included Tilak Collure (Secretary), Janaka Sugathadasa (Additional Secretary), Asitha Seneviratne (Additional Secretary) and Dr. Yousuf Marikkar (Executive Director-SLEDB) among others. |
