Sri Lanka's Katubedde-based Institute of Practical Technology recently marked 50 years since the organisation's Junior Technical Officers (JTO) qualification, which it currently awards, was transferred to its purview from the Ceylon Technical College.
According to a statement, the anniversary was celebrated at the University of Moratuwa and organised by JTO Alumni; a group that was represented by about 200 members, all of who were aged 60 years or older.
Also noted to have happened at the event, "Dr. T.A.G. Gunasekera, the Director of the Institute of Technology at Katubedde, outlined the proposed development programme for technical education at the new site at Homagama". |
