Sailors have it easy

Navy SC thumped CH&FC by 29-13 in their Dialog Division A Club Rugby match played at Welisara yesterday. The Sailors were leading by 21-6 at half time. CH played resiliently in the second half despite running out of fortunes to score more points but they managed to restrict the Sailors from capitalising during that session.

Navy scored four tries, three conversions and a penalty in response to CH’s solitary converted try, a penalty and a drop goal. The Sailors opened scoring from a try off prop forward Dhanushka Sandanuwan and followed up with two more tries from their centres Dulip Methruwan and Dinusha Chathuranga which came in the first half. All three tries were converted by fullback Thilina Weerasinghe. During the second half winger Niranjan Wickremaratne scored an unconverted try in addition to a penalty which was put over by fly half Dev Anand. Fullback Indika Wickremanayake gave six points for CH during the first half through a penalty and a drop goal while hooker Parakrama Ratnayake posted the unconverted try in the second half.
