Winning the Presidential Award for the Best Education Services Exporter 2022/23 at 25th Presidential Export Awards Ceremony

CINEC affirmed another milestone in outstanding performance and academic excellence with the receipt of the ‘Presidential Export Award in the category of Education Services for two consecutive Years 2021 / 2022 & 2022/2023’. The covetous award was received by Capt. Ajith Peiris, President of CINEC at the awarding ceremony held at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) under the patronage of President His Excellency Ranil Wickramasinghe. Bestowed with the national recognition for exporters particularly in the service sector, CINEC is now privileged to use the “Award Logo” as a marketing tool for a 3 year period, thus intends to further and promote its contribution to the education sector in exploring the global market.

Established in 1990, maintaining a proven track record of achievement, CINEC has now grown from strength to strength. As the leading and most diversified non-state higher educational training institute, it is now equipped with five fully-fledged faculties to offer internationally recognized certificate courses, diplomas, degrees as well as postgraduate degrees from Maritime to Engineering, Management, Logistics, IT, Aviation, Health, Education and Languages and Hotel and Tourism Management. CINEC’s collaboration with well-established foreign universities, namely Dalian Maritime University in China, University of Wolverhampton, , University of Bedfordshire, University of Salford, Southampton Solent University, UK ,Australian Maritime College, Southeast Missouri State University, USA, Chisholm Institute Melbourne Australia, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, University of South Australia, Fernhochschule – the mobile University – German and Lincoln University college - Malaysia enables it to produce graduates for the global market. Further, the numerous degree programmes approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC) have now become sought after for most of the programmes have been developed as professional degrees.

CINEC has now taken a step forward in international recognition by undertaking the responsibility of the management of maritime programmes at Fiji and Seychelles Maritime Training Institutes and the success of these programmes conducted by CINEC overseas can be considered as clear evidence of the international standards it maintains. Leadership development is embedded throughout the programmes enabling the student to graduate as a more effective communicator and leader. Student-led clubs and associations, as well as opportunities for sports and recreation at CINEC, equip the graduand with transferable skills facilitating the development of competencies needed in global workmanship. Further, well qualified professional lecture panel has been offered with in-service training programmes for Updating and Upgrading Knowledge and Skills through extensive research activities for them to meet the demands of technologically developing global industry and academic spheres.

MAS holdings and OREL Electrical Sri Lanka has established their Research Centre at CINEC Campus collaborating with students and staff for their industry development.
