Civil Aviation Authority gets a new Additional Director General
Mr. P.A. Jayakantha has been appointed as Additional Director General for the Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL), recently.
Mr. Jayakantha, formerly a commissioned officer in the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF- V) turned airline management officer at Sri Lankan Airlines and the national civil aviation inspector at CAASL rose through the ladder to hold earlier the post of Deputy Director General (Aviation Security Regulation), the state institution announced this week.

SLAF Bell 212 crashes into Maduru Oya
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
