The year-end Colombo Tea Auction for 2025 was conducted on Tuesday with restricted quantities of 4.2 million kg.
This was held as a result of the rescheduling of the sales that could not be held due to Cyclone Ditwah in late November, Forbes and Walker Market report stated.
Of the quantities offered for sale Ex-Estate offerings comprised 0.76 million kg. Overall the market was bearish following the fewer number of working days from the previous week’s auction.
Quality of Ex-Estate offering was barely maintained. Overall there was a sharper decline for teas in the higher price bracket. (SD)
