Nuwara Eliya Chamber of Commerce established to boost exports

In an effort to promote and expand exports by business and industry representatives in the Nuwara Eliya District, the Chamber of Commerce – Nuwara Eliya was officially established last week at the Nuwara Eliya Cooperative Holiday Resort.

Senior journalist Douglas Nanayakkara has been appointed as the founding President of the organisation, while M. S. Hussain serves as General Secretary and M. Irshad as Treasurer.

The event was attended by several prominent figures, including former CEO of the Central Province Chamber of Commerce Ashoka Abeywickrama, Attorney-at-Law and Company Secretary Priyantha Ranasinghe, and Assistant Director of the Nuwara Eliya Small Enterprises Development Division P. G. N. Bandara.
