Sri Lanka’s Palm Oil Industry Association (POIA) is eager to build strong partnerships that promote sustainable agricultural practices and drive economic growth with the new government.
A spokesperson for POIA stated, “The palm oil sector is dedicated to advancing responsible production and sustainable farming methods that not only enhance the economy but also support the environment and local communities.”
POIA is encouraged by the policy framework established by the National People’s Power (NPP) under President Dissanayake’s guidance. The emphasis on sustainable agricultural development, food self-sufficiency, and land productivity aligns perfectly with our objectives. “We commend the focus on transforming unproductive areas into more fruitful crops and ensuring that all stakeholders—including farmers, producers, and consumers—reap the benefits. We understand the critical need for collaboration between the government and industry stakeholders to ensure that agricultural policies are effective and beneficial for all,” the official said.
