Ceylon Tea is seeing a decline in production as April quantities are down by 8.49 per cent.
Total tea produced in April was 24.22 million kg, down by 2.25 million kg compared to the same period last year, Forbes & Walker market report stated.
It noted that all elevations, except for the Green Tea segment, show a decline in comparison with the corresponding month of 2025.
January – April 2026 cumulative production totalled 83.94 million kg recording a drop of 4.69 million kg compared to 88.63 million during the same period last year. (SD)
