Renowned Music Director, Weerasinghe Peiris unveiled the much-anticipated Punchi Punchi Tharu CD albums, Volumes 2 & 3, at Mother’s Care Preschool in Maharagama on July 17, 2025. The albums feature 31 original children songs, composed and written entirely by Mr. Weerasinghe Peiris, with melodies and arrangements crafted to engage and educate young listeners. The new collections include tracks such as Ha Petaw, Siribara Sri Lanka, Pera Pasala, Ran Goyame, and Amme in Volume 2, while Volume 3 introduces Chuti Kurullane, Thoppi Welendai Wanduru Penchai, Samanalayo, Muwa Petiyek, and Sellam Karana Teddy, among others. Additionally, the albums feature a song in English and Hindi, broadening their appeal.
The songs will be available on the official YouTube channel “Prabath Creations”, which has over 58 million views and has been recognized with YouTube’s Silver Play Button. The channel’s hit song Toppi Welenda has surpassed 40 million views, underscoring its popularity among Sri Lankan children. During the launch event, Visharad Dr. Prabath Peiris and Mr. Weerasinghe Peiris presented the CDs to nursery children, with the support of Mother’s Care Preschool Director Ms. Nishani Liyanage. The Punchi Punchi Tharu series has become a staple in nurseries and preschools across the island, frequently featured in concerts and children’s programs. With these new releases, parents and educators now have an expanded repertoire of 31 fresh, entertaining, and educational songs to enrich young minds.
