Guests gather at Shangri-La Colombo’s Women’s Day Fashion High Tea, held at Sapphyr Lounge in partnership with Thambili Island and Niera Shoes, where a curated runway presentation was paired with a three-course high tea celebrating fashion, creativity and the spirit of International Women’s Day.
Inspired by the hotel’s Rooted in Nature philosophy, the afternoon’s three-course high tea was thoughtfully designed to complement the unfolding runway, with each course crafted in colour, presentation and flavour to reflect the evolving mood of the collections. Thambili Island showcased three collections during the afternoon, while Niera presented a selection of its latest footwear, creating a stylish dialogue between fashion and cuisine. The experience brought together island-inspired design, elegant craftsmanship and thoughtful gastronomy in celebration of creativity, individuality and the spirit of International Women’s Day.
The United States has told Sri Lanka that the disposition of the Iranian naval vessel IRIS Bushehr and its crew is a matter for Colombo to resolve under its own laws and international obligations, while signalling it is in active talks with Sri Lanka to contain Iran’s threat to US interests.
The government today granted permission for an Iranian warship with 208 on board to enter the country.
