Colombo bourse cashes in on gains at start

 

Colombo bourse at Tuesday’s start cashed in on gains it made on Monday, after welcoming the budget proposals optimistically, analysts said. They added that higher investor activity is expected today and by mid day there may be some positive momentum.

 

“Investor sentiment moved to positive territory on favourable budget proposals on capital market and its listed entities, but the traders cashed in on the gains they made,” an analyst said.

 

The Benchmark index lost 0.15 per cent to stand at 7,045.18 by 10.30 am with the S&P shedding 0.57 per cent to show 3,761.24 on a Rs. 118 million turnover.
