In a noteworthy initiative to advance digital education in rural Sri Lanka, CIC Agri Cluster officially handed over a fully-furnished smart classroom valued at Rs. 3 million to Koswatta Gamini Maha Vidyalaya, located in Bingiriya, Kuliyapitiya, on July 3, 2025.
The donation, made under CIC’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, includes 10 computers, a digital smart board, and modern classroom furniture, all aimed at improving students’ access to technology and digital learning platforms.
The ceremonial handover was graced by senior representatives from both CIC and the government. From CIC, Managing Director Waruna Madawanaarachchi, Deputy Managing Director Anjana Leelarathna, and Group Head of Human Resources Aruna Jayasekara were in attendance.
Representing the state sector were Provincial Director of Agriculture P. Sisira Kumara, Additional Director of Agriculture T.A.U.K. Weerasekara, and Zonal Deputy Director of Education (Administration) Saman Wijesekara.
The school’s Principal, Amila Dasanayake, warmly welcomed the guests, alongside teachers, students, and members of the local community who gathered to witness the milestone moment.
