Colombo equities gained ground in early trading on Friday mainly due to the returned investor confidence backed by improved financial performance of the corporates, according to analysts. The All Share Price index gained 0.15 per cent to stand at 77,317.91 by 10. 45 am, with the S&P SL20 gaining 0.41 per cent stand at 4,130 by this time. Turnover in the morning amounted to Rs. 380 million. At the weekly T-bill auction, 12 month T-bill yield further increased by 2 basis points (bps) to 6.12 per cent while 3 month and 6 month T-bill yields increased by 6bps and 5bps to 5.94 per cent and 6.03 per cent. Analysts said that this may put pressure on traders to pull money out of the market. - ENDS -
