As online shopping gains in volume and width of offering, the Commercial Bank of Ceylon, one of the biggest facilitators of e-commerce in Sri Lanka, has announced its appointment as the Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) service provider to one of the country’s leading retailers of processed meat products.
‘Meat House’ the online meat store of Keells Krest and Elephant House, a fully owned platform of Keells Food Products PLC (KFPL) is the latest IPG client of the Commercial Bank, enabling customers to buy both fresh and processed meat items online. The main USP of the platform is that all orders will be delivered directly from the KFPL factory at no added costs, ensuring freshness, safety and convenience to all customers, the bank said in a media release.
The service will cover the authorisation of Credit and Debit cards, and processing of direct payments through Visa, Mastercard and UnionPay branded cards, giving KFPL customers the opportunity to buy all forms of fresh meat, sausages, meatballs and crumbed savouries from the comfort of their homes.
The online payment processing of www.meathouse.lk will be facilitated by Commercial Bank and provided through Mastercard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS) which is fully-compliant with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) requirements. It is a fully secured e-commerce solution as merchants are provided with ‘server-hosted pages’ whereby card details are processed on the Payment Server securely and not at the merchant's end.
