Business

Elephant House, the well-known household brand, handed over Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to the Homagama Base Hospital last week for the safety of the front-liners battling the COVID-19 pandemic by minimising exposure to the virus.

This project was an extension of the John Keells Praja Shakthi CSR initiative in Ranala – a collaboration with community empowerment between Elephant House and John Keells Foundation (JKF).

The PPE’s were handed over to Dr. J. Hettiarachchi - Medical Superintendent, Base Hospital Homagama by Sanjeewa Jayasundara – Head of Supply Chain Elephant House in the presence of Ms. Nisansala Paranayapa, Head of HR – John Keells Holdings Consumer Food Sector and Udaya Padmakumara Head of Research and Development Elephant House, JKF said in a media release.

JKF, the CSR division of the group that is spearheading many such initiatives, has under this project collaborated with Ceylon Cold Stores (Elephant House) in identifying and donating PPE requirements to the Homagama Base Hospital.

Elephant House together with Keells Supermarkets and JKF previously distributed over 10,500 packs of essential provisions free of charge to families in the Western Province, supporting the Government's initiative of ensuring that Sri Lankans have access to daily essentials during these difficult times.
