HNB launches value-added services for Visa CyberSource IPG to support merchants of all sizes

Business

HNB (Bank) recently announced the introduction of powerful value added services for merchants accepting payments via globally renowned Internet Payment Gateway (IPG) provider, Visa CyberSource.

The addition of these new value-added features to the merchant IPGs is expected to enable enterprises making the leap to e-commerce to radically optimise the payment process by further streamlining and automating transactions, the bank said in a media release.

“With the onset of the COVID pandemic, we have seen many customer-facing businesses falter as they struggle to deal with the logistics of taking their businesses online, while many others have enjoyed tremendous success by taking their business online. Having already been the first re-seller of Visa CyberSource in Sri Lanka, we were quick to understand and expand on the potential of this partnership. This has been part of a series of initiatives from HNB that are aimed at lowering the barrier of entry for enterprises taking the leap into e-commerce. This is accomplished by providing a world-class end-user experience, while supporting enterprises to manage the administrative burden of an expanded digital presence,” HNB Deputy General Manager, Retail and SME Banking, Sanjay Wijemanne said.

The improved functionality enabled by the new value-added services also includes the ability for merchants to securely store vital data in order to facilitate recurring transactions with ease for the end consumer.

In addition to the other standard IPG functions, the zero-integration IPG service streamlines access for merchants and retailers of any size, enabling them to generate secure click-and-pay links which can be sent directly to customers via email together with invoice details – an ideal feature ideally suited for medium-large enterprises.
