A group of lawyers is planning a protest demonstration at the Supreme Court premises this morning (Monday) demanding that the Chief Justice Mohan Peiris steps down. The latter was appointed under controversial circumstances some years back after the incumbent Shirani Bandaranayake was removed by presidential decree. Peiris is said to still continue to provide advice to the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa
