Special Envoy of the Malaysian Government Dato’ Seri Utama S. Samy Vellu will participate at the market opening ceremony of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) on Thursday, a CSE media release said.
Mr. Samy Vellu who is a Special Envoy to India and South Asia on Infrastructure - Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department will ring the CSE bell to signify the ‘Opening of Trading for the Day’ at 09.30 am which takes place from the purpose built platform on the trading floor.
He will be joined by Deputy Minister of Policy Planning and Economic Affairs, (Dr.) Harsha De Silva and the recently appointed Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Thilak Karunaratne.
