This required elaborate planning and quick action to procure necessary resources. One area where we had a major challenge in this regard was providing proper and safe sanitation facilities to arriving guests. We are grateful to Harpic for their prompt and generous response to install their high-end mobile toilet units at the Arrivals Section. Harpic, as a socially conscious brand, deserves praise for their ever-willingness to shoulder a new responsibility''.
As part of 'Harpic Mission Wellbeing' CSR programme, Harpic made a substantial investment into building these state-of-the-art mobile toilet facilities with the objective of providing relief to the public long term. These units have served thousands of Sri Lankans over the years, being present at all of the nation's major religious/cultural events such as Kandy Esala Perahera, Sri Pada pilgrimage season, Kataragama and Mihintale during Poson season etc, the company said in a media release.
''Harpic Mission Wellbeing is a CSR programme that works all around the year, uplifting the sanitation standards of the country and benefitting people. During the last few months, our focus shifted towards supporting the authorities battling the COVID-19 pandemic and we directed our funds and resources towards that purpose. Placement of our mobile toilet units at the BIA was another initiative under our new approach during these challenging times. We are happy to be of service to the people and the authorities in this hour of need,'' said Chathurika Fonseka, Product Group Manager – Hygiene/Homecare Category, Reckitt Benckiser Lanka Ltd.
