The Galle Literary Festival is now on (February 6-9) and a packed programe of
talks, literary discussions, art trails, poetry readings, workshops and more is
unfolding at the Galle Fort.
Sri Lanka’s most anticipated open-air art fair, Kala Pola, opens its 32nd edition on
Sunday, February 16, down Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha (Green Path),
Colombo 07. Conceptualised and introduced by the George Keyt Foundation in
1993 and sponsored and co-presented by the John Keells Group since 1994, Kala
Pola draws a wide array of painters, sculptors, portrait artists, and cartoonists of
all levels, providing art enthusiasts a chance to discover their work.

The Colombo–Kandy main road at Pahala Kadugannawa has been closed indefinitely after a deadly rockfall in the area that left six people dead and four others injured.
