Gourmet Galle 2026 has been postponed, according to a press release from the organisers that said ‘this difficult decision was made with deep regret and followed careful consideration”. The announcement comes in the wake of the cancellation of the Galle Literary Festival also scheduled for January 2026.
Gourmet Galle was scheduled to take place from January 26- February 1, 2026.
“The team behind Gourmet Galle extends its warmest and heartfelt apologies to the chefs, sponsors, hotel partners, and all supporters who have shared the vision of celebrating culinary travel and showcasing Sri Lanka as a world-class gastronomic destination. Their enthusiasm and continued support truly mean the world to everyone involved in the festival,” the release said.
Gourmet Galle promised to “return stronger than ever—a true celebration of Sri Lanka’s vibrant culinary spirit” the release added.
