The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Sri Lanka (MBFWSL) 2021 took earlier this December at the Colombo Innovation Tower under the theme of New Local with brands, local graduates of the Academy of Design (AOD), and new-gen designers calling attention to Sri Lankan talent, craft and materials.
With a vast array of collections from alumni of AOD, students and even collaborations between between Lanka Angel Network (LAN), the Ford Foundation and Design For Sustainable Development with brands Sulu, THARSHANA and Urban Drape; MBFWSL 2021 hit the right mark in highlighting their theme 'New Local'.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today that unilateral action by the UK and other countries in imposing sanctions on certain individuals do not assist but serve to complicate the national reconciliation process underway in Sri Lanka.
