The Pakistan High Commission held a series of events last week to commemorate “Kashmir Solidarity Day”. The day reaffirms Pakistan’s unconditional support to the Kashmiris in their struggle for self-determination. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Pakistani community, friends of Kashmir and journalists.
Pakistan High Commissioner Major General (Retd) Umar Farooq Burki said Pakistan would stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their hour of need.
He said the Jammu & Kashmir dispute needs to be resolved on the basis of international legitimacy and the United Nations Security Council must prevent a disastrous conflict and secure the implementation of its own resolutions. Pix by Indika Handuwala
