On Sunday November 1, one hundred lucky dogs and their owners came together in Sri Lanka’s first ever Canine Carnival, organised by the Ceylon Kennel Club, to be held from 2 p.m. onwards at Excel World.
‘Unleash’ was open to dog-owners and dog-lovers alike and will feature fun activities such as a fancy dress parade and obstacle courses as well as a vet’s corner. Behind the carnival’s concept is canine behaviourist and trainer, Shirin Merchant, who has been involved in dog training for 18 years and recently received the prestigious International Commendation Award by Kennel Club England’s Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme (KCAI) for her work as a pioneer in dog training and canine behaviour.
