The last day of CFW held up despite the wet weather with the skies clearing up just in time for the final segment of Sri Lanka’s most iconic fashion event. Day three saw quite a few CFW veterans take the ramp. Bibi Russell ; Bangladesh’s celebrated designer showcased a collection of traditional wear inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. The show also saw the likes of major brands such as Hameedia and Arugam-Bay along with Colombo Jewellery Stores. The standout of the night was Kallol Datta 1955. Indian designer Kallol Datta showcased for a first time at CFW. No stranger to the industry, he has been a force to reckon with since starting out in 2008. A regular at Fashion Week India and the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week the designer is known for taking bold, alternative chances with his style. His collection was no exception to his ‘enfant terrible’ description. Models in billowy robes and hijabs captivated the stunned audience while floating onto the ramp in leggings and combat boots. The effect while being almost brutal to watch was definitely arresting. Closing the night was Yolande Aluwihare with a collection inspired by her idol; Whitney Houston.
