Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) donated medicines worth Rs. 1 million to the Apeksha (Cancer) Hospital in Maharagama last evening.
The move was initiated by the ‘Cricket Aid,’ the Charity Arm of Sri Lanka Cricket. The donation was handed over by the SLC CEO, Mr. Ashley De Silva to Dr. Buddika Kurukulasuriya, the Deputy Director of the Apeksha Hospital.
The donation took place, while the members of the Sri Lankan Cricket Team and the officials of the SLC made a visit to the hospital and spent time with the patients.
A statement from SLC said gifts for nearly 50 children being treated at the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the Apeksha Hospital, were handed over as well.
