A Sale of miscellaneous items organized by the Girls’ Friendly Society (GFS) will be held at its headquarters at 58, Green Path, Colombo 3 on Friday, November 27 from 8 a.m. onwards, in aid of the GFS Hostel development and expansion.
The GFS is one of Sri Lanka’s oldest women’s organizations. Since 1957 the Society has been running a Hostel for young women from the outstations coming into the city for employment.
This has assisted several hundreds of girls over the years by not merely providing them with safe and secure accommodation, but also giving them opportunities to further their education and their careers.
