The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), High Commission of India, Colombo, will be holding an online Hindustani vocal recital by Sangit Nipun, Shasthrapathi Asith Chanushka Atapattu on Friday, June 12 at 6 p.m. on SVCC, Colombo FACEBOOK page https://www.facebook.com/ICCRSriLanka.
Atapattu is a lecturer in Hindustani vocal music in the Department of North Indian Music, Faculty of Music at University of the Visual & Performing Arts, Colombo. He initially studied the subject under the guidance of Dr. Premadasa Mudunkotuwa and obtained his Bachelor of Performing Arts Degree with 1stclass Distinction in 2007 at Bhatkhande Music University, Lucknow under the ICCR Scholarship. In 2009, he obtained his Master of Music Degree in Hindustani Vocal Music with BHU Gold Medal. In 2013, he registered for his PhD Degree at Visva - Bharati University, Santiniketan.
