The ‘Love Sri Lanka Festival 2020’ is conceptualised for the enjoyment of all Sri Lankans as well as foreigners and will showcase everything Sri Lankan. It is a celebration of Sri Lankan art, craft, culture, food, fashion and accessories, street drama, music and entertainment; all of which will be on display during the festival.
This unique event, by Sri Lankans for Sri Lankans, aims to rekindling the nostalgia and emotions of being Sri Lankan. Further, for the foreign visitors it will be a unique opportunity to enjoy ‘All of Sri Lanka’ in one place. Besides the main programme of building responsible citizens, Mother Sri Lanka (MSL), is also engaged in a special livelihood development project to support local craftsmen under the movement’s ‘Empowering Entrepreneurs’ Programme which promotes a wide range of authentic Sri Lankan products from organic foods and beverages, rush and reed accessories, handloom clothing, mugs, stoneware, terracotta products, seashell and coconut shell crafts, ceramic ware to stationary and other art and craft products. The initiative assists and supports over 100 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which provides a living to over 5,000 families. These products are available at the MSL Colombo 7 showroom at 410/131, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7, and at the popular promenade down the Parliament Drive at No. 614 Sri Jayawardenepura Road, Ethul Kotte, Kotte.
ABOUT MOTHER SRI LANKA
Established in 2008, Mother Sri Lanka (MSL) is a non-profit organization which brings together the collaborative efforts of the public, private and non-profit sectors focusing primarily on the educational, socio-economic and cultural development of Sri Lankans.
