Miss Premier Ceylon with Miss England to get under way in May

Premier Ceylon, the hotels and hospitality company which has its corporate head office based in Virginia, USA, is ready to bring Miss Premier Ceylon with Miss England 2018 to Sri Lanka. To be held on May 26, 2018 at Amari Galle, the event is expected to bring much cheer, sparkle and glitter to illuminate the off season. 

While this is the first time the contest happens on our shores, Premier Ceylon had been hosting Miss Premier Ceylon with Miss England for the past two years in the UK. In 2017, the top 7 entrants were invited, with the reigning Miss England, to tour Sri Lanka. Consequently Olivia Green, ‘Miss Genting Stoke’ and also second runner-up to Miss England 2017, was crowned Miss Premier Ceylon 2017. 

Through their partnership with the Miss England Organization, Premier Ceylon is to organize and manage exclusive beauty contests and pageants to the best of international standards in the UK, Europe and Sri Lanka, with the prime vision of flagging Sri Lanka as a promising social, economic and tourism hub. It is also one of the company’s corporate social responsibility programmes. All the events are endorsed and approved by the Ministry of Tourism and the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. 

This year’s Miss Premier Ceylon with Miss England is to comprise two phases; the first in Sri Lanka and the second in the UK. The first will be the event at Amari Galle, with Miss England officials, choreographers and beauty queens attending. They will help the Sri Lankan contestants to experience cross cultural and applied professional exposure for them to develop integration and build up personalities and careers back in the United Kingdom, United States and Europe. This will be the first time that Sri Lanka experiences an authentic international event of this magnitude. 

As the second phase of the project, the selected Sri Lankan beauty queens will be offered the opportunity to walk the ramp in the United Kingdom, United States and other European destinations, appointed as brand ambassadors promoting Sri Lankan Tourism all over the world. 

The Sri Lankan event is billed to be one of the best international shows the island has ever witnessed, with many musical and dance groups participating, followed by a gala black tie dinner and a champagne breakfast the following morning.

Miss Premier Ceylon with Miss England is an equal opportunity project and shall be open for all nationalities, languages, races, religions or colours beyond borders, and “shall imply distinctive characterisitics in staging and selection to sri Lanka and its tourism”, it was stated by the company at the press release at OZO Colombo.  

The Sri Lankan event for 2018 is sponsored and hosted by OZO Colombo, Amari Galle, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotional Bureau, Lakehouse, National Television, Softwave Printing and Packaging, Lanka Biz Webs, Emcee Travels Luxury Limousine Service, Nkar Travel house, Flipit Media, Tour Blue and Scissors Salon together with a host of other service providers.
