Dr. Nuwandika Lakmali Wickramarathne, who was crowned Miss British Empire 2018 was welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Airport following her return to the island today (October 1).
The contest which was held in Perth, Australia saw the participation of 97 countries.
Dr. Nuwandika who is a medical officer at the Divisional Hospital in Nawagamuwa also serves as one of the Directors at Water’s Edge Hotel and the Brand Ambassador for Sakurai Aviation. She is also the founder of Elegant Cleopatra, a clothing, Beauty Cosmetics and a Fashion brand.
A Sri Lankan man was apprehended at Suvarnabhumi airport for attempting to smuggle wildlife out of the country after three ball pythons were found hidden in his underwear, the Bangkok post reported.
