To commemorate World Hindi Day (Vishwa Hindi Divas)-2020, a series of events will be organized by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Colombo, January 10, 2020.
A Book release of the proceedings of the International Hindi Seminar conducted on December 4, 2019, on the topic “Hindi Aur Sinhalese Samanantar Dharaiyen” (a comparative study of Hindi and Sinhala language and culture) in collaboration with University of Kelaniya.
The book is published by Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, High Commission of India, Colombo. It contains 15 articles from national and international scholars on the topic.
World Hindi Day is celebrated on January 10 every year, marking the anniversary of the first World Hindi Conference which was held in 1975 in Nagpur, India.
