The Ministry of Public Administration, Home Affairs and Provincial Councils and Local Governments has taken a conclusive step to promptly provide employment stability to 10,000 employees who have not been validated in Local Government Institutions.
State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Governments Janaka Wakkumbura confirmed that casual and contract-basis employees in Local Government institutions will soon be granted permanent job status leaning towards confronting incertitude and strengthening the constancy and reliability of public sector employment.
The related institutions have already commenced data collection of the pertained employees in a complete transparent manner, the Minister further added.
Plans are in progress to fill 12,000 currently vacant positions with the green-light of the respective Ministers in due course.
