Navy arrested ten Indian fishermen who were engaging in poaching activities in the Sri Lankan territorial waters northeast of Point Pedro Lighthouse in Jaffna yesterday, a statement said. One of their mechanized trawler also seized.
The apprehended fishermen, trawler and fishing gear were brought to the naval base in Kankesanthurai and handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director of Jaffna for onward legal action.
