This year's annual budget which is expected to be tabled before Parliament on March 05 will be a people-friendly budget, State Minister Ashok Abeysinghe said.
Speaking to reporters in Galgamuwa today (Feb 19), he said that the government has taken measures to provide benefits for the people despite the difficult situation that it is faced with.
He added that the public would be benefitted by this year's budget irrespective of whether the wages of public servants are increased or not.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
