24 year old youth drowns while attempting to save friend

A 24 year old person, who jumped into a well in Point Pedro to save his drowning friend, had died along with his friend on Monday (October 24).

A group of six youths had consumed alcohol near a well of a field in the Vallipuram area to celebrate Deepavali, where one had fallen into the well and one of his friends had jumped in to save his friend.

The people in the area had taken the two youths out of the well and were taken to hospital, by which time they had already died. The dead bodies are currently kept at the Mandigai Hospital.

The deceased were identified as Susendakumar Sasikan and Ganeshalingam Labosigan, residents of Pedro Point and aged 24 years old
