The Police Headquarters has said it has apprehended 25 suspects over election law violations and incidents of violence by today (Oct 25), in the run-up to the presidential poll.
These arrests had been carried out based on 32 complaints on incidents of law violations and 17 incidents of violence.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission (EC) says it has received more than 1500 similar complaints between October 8 and 24, since declaring the final list of presidential candidates.
Among the complaints received by its Complaint Management Units set-up at the EC and across all districts, 1537 had been of law violations, while 14 had been on violence.
