773 Navy absentees who left the Navy without following proper procedures have reported back to the naval bases, the Navy said.
To coincide with the 72nd Independence Day, a week-long general amnesty period commencing from 05th February was declared for tri-forces absentees to receive a discharge or to rejoin and continue their national service to the country. As such, 773 Navy absentees who left the Navy without following proper procedures have reported back to the bases by 11th February 2020.
This measure has been taken by the President, with the intention to provide an opportunity for tri-forces personnel who had served the nation under difficult circumstances facing numerous hardships and had left their respective services without following proper procedures. Meanwhile, the Navy urges other Navy deserters to report back to their closest naval establishment by February 12.
