The Police have arrested 90 suspects over election related complaints so far, with the presidential election set to take place tomorrow (Nov 16).
Among the 222 complaints received by the police, 115 were based on incidents of law violations, Police Spokesman SSP Ruwan Gunasekara told a news conference.
Meanwhile, two individuals have been arrested with leaflets against certain presidential candidates during the 48-hour silent period – which requires all campaigning activities to come to an end.
One individual had been arrested with 5900 leaflets in Kandy yesterday, while the other had been arrested with 3845 leaflets in Madampe today.
